ISC 112 - Industrial Safety

2 Class, 0 Lab, 2 Credits

This course introduces the principles of industrial safety. Emphasis is placed on industrial safety and OSHA regulations. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of a safe working environment and OSHA compliance. (Online only)

ISC 131 - Quality Management

3 Class, 0 Lab, 3 Credits

This course provides a study and analysis of the aspects and implications of quality management that lead to customer satisfaction through continuous quality improvement. Topics include Total Quality Management, ISO 9000, organizing for quality, supplier/vendor relationships, and the role of leadership in quality management. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of quality management concepts and techniques.

ISC 132 - Manufacturing Quality Control

2 Class, 3 Lab, 3 Credits

Recommended Co-requisites: EGR 125

This course introduces quality concepts and techniques used in industry. Topics include elementary statistics and probability, process control, process capability, and quality improvement tools. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and principles of quality and apply them to the work environment. Proficiency in using spreadsheet software is required for success in this course. (Offered spring semester)

ISC 135 - Principles of Industrial Mgmt

4 Class, 0 Lab, 4 Credits

This course covers the managerial principles and practices required for organizations to succeed in modern industry, including quality and productivity improvement. Topics include the functions and roles of all levels of the management, organization design, planning and control of manufacturing operation, managing conflict, group dynamics, and problem solving skills. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of management principles and integrate these principles into job situations.

ISC 170 - Problem-Solving Skills

3 Class, 0 Lab, 3 Credits

This course covers basic concepts of interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Topics include leadership development, constructive feedback, building relationships, and winning support from others. Upon completion, students should be able to use interpersonal skills effectively and lead others. (Offered fall semester)

ISC 220 - Lean Manufacturing

2 Class, 2 Lab, 3 Credits

This course introduces students to the concept of lean manufacturing as a means of waste reduction. Topics include the examination of manufacturing operations and the incorporation of lean techniques to reduce waste, cost, time, and materials in manufacturing processes. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of lean manufacturing systems and how they benefit the environment and business. (Offered fall semester)

ISC 222 - Project Planning/Control

1 Class, 2 Lab, 2 Credits

This course covers how to plan, schedule and control projects typical in manufacturing and service industries. Topics include fundamental project management concepts and hands-on computer application experience with process flow charting and PERT/CPM project managers. Upon completion, students should be able to plan, schedule and control projects using state-of-the-art computer application programs.
